About

Chaplain Lou

I am a six year former veteran of the City of Alexandria (VA) Police Department. While there, I served primarily on Midnight Patrol and as a Field Trainaing Officer. In 1994, I became the Alexandria Kiwanis Police Officer of the Year with my police partner for our community policing efforts and succesful crime interdiction while fulfilling our duties as midnight patrol division mountain bike officers.

I’ve done a lot of things since then including law enforcement, hospital, and hospice chaplaincy. I’ve also served at-risk Native youth in an educational, clinical setting for 3.5 years. I currently serve as Vice Chair (for Training) of the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Chaplains Board (2008 – present) and as the City of Fredericksburg Police Department’s Chaplain (2019 – present). I am also an active member of the Virginia Crime Clinic (2008-present), an educational, professional fellowship serving federal, state and local law enforcement as well as private security. I served six years as their State Chaplain (October 2015-December 2021). I remain their Richmond Chapter chaplain, serving since 2009.
